Great Lakes Fancy Rat Association

On Sunday, September 10, 2006 the GLFRA had a booth at the Walled Lake Pet Awareness Fair. The event ran from 11am-4pm at the Walled Lake Even Field. Pet Awareness is designed to educate the community about animals through a day of family fun and food, as well as a chance for everyone to show off their pets or check out the process of adopting a new pet. They had over 40 vendors and rescues involved in this year’s event and it was a fun, entertaining day for people and pets of all ages. We look forward to attending again next year as we had a wonderful time. We were able to pass out plenty of literature about proper care of rats as well as show people some wonderfully squishy boys. We won over many people who were hesitant to accept the idea of keeping rats as pets. We were interviewed by a newspaper in Novi and one of Robin’s rats had his picture taken for the article.

Note: All rats that attended the event are observing proper quarantine procedures.
